I bought this for my son, who is very smart, but can't stand rote practice for memorizing. He was aggravated when I started it, but after only a few minutes, he said, "I like this!" He doesn't mind me asking him the answers, out of the blue either. He likes to show that he remembers.

    So far, so good

My 6th grade son is actually pretty good at math, but he has never been able to grasp memorizing his times tables. He relies on counting with his fingers which is not a very effective method when dealing with division. We've tried everythung but the numbers won't stick in his head. Well, the stories and characters do and we're only on day 3 (still just practicing part 1). It's funny now when the numbers come up and instead of saying "7 times 4 is....?" he says "Ok, Mrs. Week and the chair." Or with division he says "Ok, 24 divided by butterflies." The answer comes right to him, especially the more we practice and he can recall the numbers in each story faster. If nothing else, it's given him another tool to help him recall his tables, since he is not so good at retaining some things without constant practice.

    Super helpful!

I homeschool my 2nd grader and used this to introduce multiplication to him. After just the first time through Part 1, he's already started grasping the facts presented. He enjoys the stories and doesn't even consider watching to be "school".

    Just What We Needed

I have seen the ads for this for awhile and it seemed too good to be true, but I finally ordered Times Tales. We love it! We have watched the video over the past week, and by Day 2, the stories clicked and my son suddenly knew the multiplication facts that he has struggled with for so long. Our family is thrilled with his progress! So much so, that my mother, who tutors a public school child on his multiplication facts, recommended it to the school counselor at that school!

Trigger Memory Co. is owned and operated by Jennie von Eggers & Marillee Flanagan, sisters. They have been in business since 2003. They are two homeschool moms that were looking for an opportunity to help kids and have a small business. Jennie von Eggers created the stories for Times Tales in 2003 as a quick way for her two grade school boys to learn their upper times tables. She got tired of the same old boring flashcards. Jennie is always looking for unconventional ways to teach her kids. They have since published Zone Clean 'n' Flip products as well at the Memory Trigger. Most of their children are now in college but both the homeschooling adventure as well as their small business has been a blessing to both owners.
