About Times Tales
Trigger Memory Co. is owned and operated by Jennie von Eggers & Marillee Flanagan, sisters. They have been in business since 2003. They are two homeschool moms that were looking for an opportunity to help kids and have a small business. Jennie von Eggers created the stories for Times Tales in 2003 as a quick way for her two grade school boys to learn their upper times tables. She got tired of the same old boring flashcards. Jennie is always looking for unconventional ways to teach her kids. They have since published Zone Clean 'n' Flip products as well at the Memory Trigger. Most of their

    Absolutely Love It!

Last year, we took a week off homeschooling just to focus on cleaning and started using this program. It's so worth the money! The kids still love to help clean (they're 8, 11, 12 and 12--twins) and really feel re warded by being able to do such a spectacular job and I have to say, they love marking off the checklist. But it's not just a checklist--it actually walks them through cleaning each room and I can't say enough about it. It is so nice to see them doing a thorough job and actually enjoying it, and it's nice to have such a clean home and not have to bust my butt to keep it this way!

My daughter Kaylee, who struggles with math was able to learn all the multiplication and division tables after watching the 25 minute videos only 3 times each. I am so thankful for this program. Every teacher should use this, it would save everyone a lot of time and headaches. She loves practicing her math facts now! Best money I've ever spent.

Went through 8 months of battles over trying to learn multiplication tables. Bought the time tales video and Within 2 weeks she had the time tables memorized. The best moment was when she came home from school, beaming, because she knew all her times tables in a game the classroom was playing.

    Pros and ...Thoughts...

I got this for my 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter. My son did great with the memorizing of the stories, my daughter not so much. With the flashcards, my son could figure out the answer, but it seemed to take longer than just memorizing the fact would, after understanding how multiplication works. But maybe it's supposed to take more time??? I get the story-mnemonic idea, but in my mind, I just "see" the math of multiplication. The story seems to take longer and will it actually help my children in the long run with harder problems? Because the video doesn't seem to be teaching the principle of how 7 x 8 = 56... Bottom line: I'm not sure how I feel about the Times Tales. I think it's a great supplement to my current math curriculum and it was fun for my children. I didn't have to push them to do it. They enjoyed it. So that's a big plus. For the first week of our homeschool this fall, they just got to do Times Tales each day for math and they loved it. It was a good warm up for their math brains after the summer. :)
