We got this book in yesterday and my 7 year old son read it to me before dinner. It's simple text and tells you about the water cycle. My son already knew the information but it was great to reinforce it.
What was awesome about this book was that the pictures were SO cute!!! Every little animal, fish, and raindrop was just so adorable! It prompted my son to go get tracing paper and trace some of the illustrations (as well as draw his own) and he made his OWN book about the Water Cycle by stapling the pages together!
He also was intrigued by the beautiful illustration of a Kingfisher, so he looked up information about it on his iPad. We learned so much about them!
So while this book was very simple it still worked perfect for my 2nd grade son because he did outside research as well as used to beautiful illustrations as a jumping board to be creative and create his own variation of the story!!!
I got this book for my 7 year old son. He read it to himself when we first got it and we talked briefly in the car. I noticed him reading/looking through the pictures again the next day, as well.
The book talks about boundaries, having a positive self-image of your body, being confident, saying assertive, talking to trusted adults if you feel uncomfortable, etc.
I think it was beneficial and I'm glad he has it.
My 7 year old son is obsessed with Legos, so I bought him this book because of the Lego illustrations. He loves it! Sometimes he reads the stories and sometimes he just goes through and looks at the pictures. This is a great way to introduce history to your child/students! :)

Is this a book about the game of chess, or about how to play the game?
