Great for shades of meaning work. Students have to try to find the matches of synonyms in this sorting activity.
It's a synonym sort! This sorting activity is great as a literacy center, a small group activity, or even a whole group activity.
Included are both colored & black/white versions of every activity in this pack.
Students use shirts and shorts to match synonyms together. While there are colors on the shirts and shorts, they do not have to match to create a match! Students might think they need to, but they do not.
Included in this pack are 21 different "synonym" pairs, making it a total of 42 cards in this sort!
There is also an optional cut-and-paste activity at the end of the pack that students can complete as a sort of assessment to see if they understand synonyms. This can be done individually or as a whole group.
This pack would go GREAT as an end of the year review for older grades, as well!
