Perfect ending to teaching American History!
May 01, 2018

We really enjoyed using this product while learning about American History. Probably the only negative I can think of is that there are usually only one or two recipes per period so we usually had to do a little more research to find a couple more recipes to make the entire meal we prefer to do when finishing up a unit. If you only want one or two recipes, then this is an absolutely perfect cook book to include in your American History lessons. Other than including just one or two recipes, we really enjoyed making and eating just about all the recipes from this book. Even if you do want more recipes, I encourage you to use this book. Not only does each recipe work to teach what people were eating during each period, there are additional points to ponder or a question to go along with each recipe which was really nice. We would discuss whatever point or question while cooking our meal, which would be a perfect lead in to a discussion about whatever topic with my son while we were cooking. Their World History Cookbook is just as fantastic, but with the usual one or two recipes, but well worth the cost to help start our recipe gathering for each period we studied in Ancient History and we're looking forward to using many of the other recipes included while we continue learning about world history.

Can't wait to try it out, but don't like that it's a Download.
Oct 20, 2016

I bought this to try out with my 7 year old son at home on our driveway. I am excited to try the idea out with him.

My complaint is that it is it is a download, and not an actual booklet. I know it clearly says that it was a download, but because of the price I guess I assumed it would be a book shipped to me.. I didn't not realize until after I purchased it. It seems pretty pricey for a download.
I just it in a plastic folder. I don't like that it won't be durable and look nice long-term.. I wish it had been an actual booklet that was mailed to me.

Interesting and pertinent

We live in an area that has really high winds. I want to learn more about wind, so I'm adding this to our homeschool studies. I hadn't even thought of doing this, until I saw this resource. I'm glad I saw it!

Isn't it ironic?

A fun concept to teach - although I think my teen had it down before we even started! :)

I enjoyed this resource - I was (am) glad that it includes prose and poetry.

A LOT of material here! 7 map posters, 10 fact posters and 8 activity sheets - plus it's offered at a really great price.
