Singapore Math

Product Reviews
I've used Singapore Math with two of my kids and just recently ordered for the third. I'd never ordered from educents before, but it was the lowest price before the 10% discount I found on the page. My soon to be kindergartner is so excited to look at his books and get out the scissors and glue. When I first looked at this curriculum I thought it wasn't enough meat, but then realized it was Kindergarten ;0). My older son finished both A & B in the first semester, but enjoyed it so much he was excited to start 1A.
This will be the second time I've purchased and used Earlybird Kindergarten Mathematics. My son has been checking out his brother's finished book and now looking through his book that just arrived - super fast, I might add. He can't wait to start school - woo hoo!
This book is nowhere near as colorful and engaging as the ones we have for lower grades, but the flip side is, it seems like there is a lot more content and practice problems. Topics include rounding, mult./div., fractions (adding/subtracting, mixed numbers, improper fractions), Tables & graphs, and some geometry.
I have been using this with my son for a few months now and we enjoy it. He is in first grade, we are working on adding. I also have the teacher's guide to go along with this, which I feel is very helpful. There are lots of colorful pictures on every page and lots of opportunity to discuss different ways of looking at a problem. This book teaches more how to think about problem solving vs just practicing. If you are looking for a workbook with tons of practice, this is not it. But if you are looking for something that is fun and in-depth, give this a shot
My daughter selected this math workbook. We are strengthening some weak points in her math knowledge base. It has a good format which helps her.
