Mom Michele reviews Click-A-Brick’s Rainbowland set. See why she found the set to be a fun social and educational activity for her kids.
It amazes me how imaginative children can be. With the right tools and resources, they can truly let their imagination soar and create new things. My children and I reviewed Click-A-Brick Toys, which help to foster children’s creativity and problem solving.
What is Click-A-Brick?
Click-A-Brick produces themed sets of interlocking cubes to encourage imagination, problem solving, fine motor skills, and engineering. Each set includes a fully-colored instruction manual with step-by-step instructions to guide children to build many creations included in the themed set. Learning and knowing how to follow directions is an important skill, so having this guide is very useful. We also appreciated that playing with Click-A-Brick is not just limited to what is listed in the manual. In addition, the structure of each brick has holes on each side of the cube, allowing for multiple connections, so children can build even more creations beyond what is listed in the instruction manual.
There are several themes and color schemes to choose from, appealing to a wide variety of interests. We reviewed the Rainbowland set which comes with 112 pieces.
Our seven and five-year-old enjoyed building with us and seeing all of the different creations we could make with the colorful bricks. Not only is it an enjoyable product, but it also provides physical and mental stimulation. Manipulating the bricks with their little fingers strengthens their fine motor skills, their spatial awareness, and their minds as they work to figure out how certain pieces fit to build their creations.
Click-A-Brick can be used in multiple settings, whether in the comfort of your own home, in a classroom, or on-the-go. We love how it has a drawstring pouch to carry all of the pieces in. It is easy to store the pieces neatly and is portable to take out if you need quiet entertainment for the kids at a restaurant or a relative’s or friend’s house. It is also a toy that can be enjoyed independently or together with family members or friends. We like that it does not require much preparation either. It is a toy that can be set out and the kids can use it straight from the bag (or box).
Use Them in the Classroom!
Click-A-Brick can also incorporate educational concepts such as language arts, math, and science. For example, during free-play, my daughters were building characters with their Click-A-Brick toys (beyond what was listed in the manual), and they were making up stories to go with the characters. It was so neat to see their imaginations run wild. You can take it steps further with lesson concepts, and talk about the geometric shapes that you can build with Click-A-Brick blocks. Or if a child is learning about different animals or plants in science, the Click-A-Brick toys can be a great supplement to building those concepts alongside the learning units. Whether for free play or for structured lessons, Click-A-Brick offers many ways for children to have fun learning experiences.
Just as Click-A-Brick’s tagline states, “Connect With Your Imagination.” Anything is possible with your creativity!
