This is a very cute idea however only half of the dots make a popping sound. One side of the book pops very loudly and my students love it. On the other side of the book, the circles push in and out but make very little noise. My students lose interest in that side very quickly. Personally, I am ... Madhura K - Parent

      Fun Interactive Book

I got this for my 17 month old daughter that likes seek and find books. I thought that the combination popping noise with the seek and find would be fun for her. There is also a lot to talk about on each page. My daughter does like it but occasionally gets frustrated at the poke a dots. If you don't pop it on the previous page, then you can't pop it on the current page. She likes to just open it up to a random page and doesn't understand why they won't pop. It also a little heavy for her to maneuver on her own. I think both of these problems will go away as she gets older and I look for to future use.

      Poke-a-dot LOVE

My 2 year old daughter loves this book. She got it for Christmas and my 6 year old nephew also loved playing with it. She can pop the dots by herself and enjoys looking for the pictures on the pages. We read the book often, but she also opens it and pops the dots by herself.

Product review of Poke-A-Dot An Alphabet Eye Spy

This is the way the book works: As the book is read, the "bubbles" are pushed in (to get the popping sound); this way, the bubbles are being set up to be pushed in for the next page. For example, those pushed in on page 4 will then be "ready" for popping after turning the page over to page 5. Therefore, you HAVE to start from the beginning every time or the "bubbles" won't be ready to pop as you go through the book. The popping sound didn't happen all the time either. Some "bubbles" were defective--they either didn't pop or remain pushed in thus resulting in no popping sound for the following page. I realize that books should be read from the beginning anyway, but the child may not always do this on his own which could result in some frustration. I can't give it a play value as I decided not to give it as a gift to my grandson.
