This product is perfect for practicing Kindergarten standards of counting & cardinality and solving addition problems within ten using visual representations.
There are two centers that can be used for instruction, remediation, or independent work stations, depending on your classroom needs.
The first center is 4 pages of addition sentences using various bugs in place of numbers. The student has the option of counting the bugs and writing the total, or writing the complete number sentence below the bugs. Using a sleeve protector or lamination, makes these a reusable center. The pages can be used as is, or cut into strips.
The second center is a large bug catching jar. It is a game where the student draws an instruction card for adding 2 types of bugs to the jar. The student places the bugs in the jar, counting out the required number of each bug. Then the student can say the addition sentence or make up a word problem in order to solve the equation. An optional recording sheet is provided. This sheet can be used as is, or the sheet can be cut in strips, and each child receives one strip to record their number sentence. It is recommended to laminate or place in a sleeve protector, then use an expo marker for repeated use.
Your students will go buggy for this spring themed center!
