This multi-use resource is a set of seven games that will help solidify your students’ mastery of first grade math topics while heading off the summer slide. Each game is presented in both full color and black and white versions. Play the full-color game with your class, then print a blackline version of the same game. Your students will love to color them and take them home for summer practice!
This set of seven first grade math games will help you keep the active learning going during the last weeks of school AND improve your students' retention of math skills during the school break.
Each of the single page games comes in two formats: full color and black and white. Play the color version in school with partners and small groups. Then print the black and white version for each student to take home for summer practice with friends and family!
Skills addressed in this set are addition, subtraction, adding ten, adding multiples of ten, moving up and back on the 120 chart, and place value (tens and ones). For your convenience, the standards are printed on each game.
I'm proud to have been a teacher for 26 years, with most of my experience and my happiest days spent in the primary grades. I've taught Reading Recovery, Basic Skills, first grade, and even a first grade literacy intervention class. As a big believer in hands-on learning, you'll see that center activities and games are among my favorite resources to create! Student engagement is key to learning that lasts, so I strive to create differentiated fun activities that will keep your students excited about learning!
