Life of Fred Zillions of Problems for Advanced Algebra
    Jul 03, 2017

Fred is a great story to motivate children to engage in mathematics. We began with Apples and have since purchased the entire set all the way through Calculus.
Zillions of problems allows students to get the extra practice with any concept that is still fuzzy after working through the "your turn" in Advanced Algebra. Do not feel like you have to do every single one of the zillions!

I've been homeschooling 8 kids for 12 years. Everyone always asks about math. I've tried Saxon, Singapore, Math-U-See, and the Fred series. There are different types of learners. I'm a huge fan of Fred if you have kids that like reading more than math. In fact I'd recommend these if you have a child that is struggling with reading because "it's boring". Fred is funny and I find my kids of all ages giggling over these while attempting their work. They found a lot of the hands on work or drawing work in math you see tedious and unhelpful. (Great for artsy kids or kids with spatial leaning abilities.). Singapore just didn't click. Saxon was kill and drill and extra busy work. I have very avid readers and Fred fit them well. It's fast paced and low kill & drill. I have some learners that get things quickly and want to move on. This book is not part of the main series but a supplemental series being added to Fred. It DOES NOT HAVE INSTRUCTION but extra problems. This is good for my students who get it but forget easily or need a little extra practice to feel solid and confident. I might have a student do every other chapter as it coincides with the instruction book (same title minus the "zillions of problems" bit) OR if they have questions with a chapter. I highly recommend Fred!
