Life of Fred for the WIN!
    Jul 14, 2017

I love these books and I love that they all teach me something new (or help me refresh) as I help the kids with the lessons. Some of them are advanced for my middle schoolers, but I keep buying all the Fred books so they'll be on hand when they're ready and I enjoy them myself in the meantime.

    Engaging puzzles!

I really like that the "problems" in the book are treated as puzzles and that it continues with the conversation style of the other Life of Fred books. While the book seems to be intended for high school or college-level students, I can see this being used outside of that realm. I'm reading it, myself!

I'm so excited about Fred and Logic! I am using this to run a group class with my teens. I have 12-17 yo boys and girls. Going through Fred feels good with this age group- it's safe as far as topic goes. Fred is a Christian author; there is not any preachyness but he's "safe". I read the chapter aloud, we do the work together discussing it, then they write their own answers down in a composition book set aside just for this subject. In this age when it seems logic is lacking in the public forum I wish all our young people could get acquainted with Fred and Logic!!!

We haven't started using this book for the kids yet, but I flipped through it and ended up reading the first chapter by myself because I couldn't put it down. The kids are going to be thrilled that Duck is back. I think this is another winner from Life of Fred.

Logic for a High School Elective

My high schooler enjoys the humor Life of Fred brings to math. She actually ASKED me to buy this book for her. This is a great way for homeschoolers to earn an elective credit and increase thinking skills.
