Discover how different services and industries contribute to a community, state or province, or territory. Children are amazed to learn about so many different contributors that create the economy. This is suitable for children ages 7 and up.
This research project will focus on the various services and industries of selected states, provinces, or territories. As they are diverse, there will not be the same types of services and industries in each place, but there will be some common ones. It is important to determine what industries and services are applicable to the chosen area. Here are some samples:
Transportation, Mining, Fishing, Farming, Factories, Mills, Railways, Orchards, Logging, Ferries, Shipping (ports), Firefighting, Medical, Education, Government, Retail, Law Enforcement
There are choices available as to how the project is presented. It may be a written report, a model or diorama, an interview, a pictorial history, or a timeline.
The criteria and marking sheets are included. A sample is given as well as a blank for other areas.
