Whether you call it a "lapbook" or "flip flap book," your students will be engaged by this project centered around the life of our nation's first president.
This kit includes directions for folding a lapbook, as well as front and back cover decorations. It also contains print-outs for seven foldable lapbook pieces students can create and fill in.
Your students will...
... write a letter to George Washington.
... research and record some of his most famous quotes.
... select fascinating facts about his life from their reading.
... learn some of the ways we commemorate his dedication to our country.
... copy some of his "Rules of Civility."
... make notes on his life and family in his mini-biography.
... note important dates on the timeline of his life.
A link to our Pinterest board with recommended resources (books, websites, etc.) for completing this unit is also included!
