Do you want an innovative way to teach geometry and measurement skills to elementary students? This is a perfect resource that matches that need! Students will explore geometry in architecture, classify angles and review many different geometry/measurement terms in a fun and exciting way.
This product is actually three resources in one!
This product includes:
Angles in Architecture
The descriptions for each product can be found below.
1.) Angles in Architecture
Angle are everywhere! This is a great activity to encourage students to identify acute, obtuse, right, and reflex angles. Students will find and measure angles outside of the textbook. This digital file contains a template meant for copying and distributing to students, student directions, math standards alignment, sample answer sheet, and student rubric.
2.) Angle Classifications - Acute, Right, Obtuse and Reflex
Angle are everywhere! This is a great activity to introduce actute, obtuse, right, and reflex angles. Students will find and measure angles outside of the textbook. This digital file includes three sheets. 1) A template meant for copying and distributing to students 2) An example of one way to correctly fill out the sheet 3) A rubric that can be utilized to assess students' understanding of the angles.
3.) Geometry Review
This is a geometry review that can be used with upper elementary students. This is a five page review that could be used as a pre-assessment or refresher on geometry concepts before testing. All of the questions in this review aligned to the Common Core geometry standards.
A student that completes this packet will:
- Identify triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, cubes, etc.
- Identify spheres and cylinders
- Identify line segments, lines and rays
- Classify polygons by sides and vertices
- Identify and names acute, obtuse, reflex and right angles
- Determine the missing measurement in triangles
- Identify and names properties of prisms and angles
