This NEW product is a great way to teach beginning algebraic concepts in young learners with fun pictures and beginning math. Concepts like balancing equations, finding the missing addend or divisor, distributive property and communicative property are all touched on through fun graphics and easy to follow task cards.
Description

This pack offers 6 full size posters. Each poster has a scale with fun Fruit Kids and fruit in balance. Use the task cards (4 cards per scale) to answer questions and figure out what different fruits and kids weigh, and compare weights of different items.

This is for late first, second through third graders with a comfortable understanding of addition, subtraction, beginning multiplication and division. Multiplication and division is kept single digit to focus on the concepts covered (solving the equations).

Also comes with a sample scale and individual Fruit Kids and fruits that you can print out and use for practice, for hands on learning and walking through the problems, or for making your own balancing problems.

This comes with black and white recording pages, and answer keys with explanations, so students can self check.
