What's included?Listen and Follow Directions For K-1 Ready to Print and Use!
This 22 page packet was developed and designed to support Kindergarten and First Grade kiddos who may have difficulty following directions. Those students that are bit impulsive, who want to dig right in and get started, but because they are so quick to get on with a project they may not “tune in” to the directions and may have to fix up or redo something. These are teacher directed activities for listening and following directions and have been used with Kindergarten and First Grade Special Education students. Of Course these pages are also great for English language learners as they include color words, direction and positional words as well as left and right directions.
Here is what is included in this Fun and Educational packet:
9 pages of black and white images for students to use to follow teacher directions
9 pages of teacher directions for each image.
2 Draw a Rhyme picture where students listen to a story that is in rhyme and draw what the teacher directs. One image will be a monster and the other a clown. These are great for discussions of Schema and maybe just for a fun Brain Break!
I hope this product supports many students who need to pause and listen before diving into work. Following directions and listening is such an important social skill, which at times is missing from our fast paced world! This also supports fine motor skills for those occupational therapy needs!
Thank you for downloading, purchasing, following, browsing and inspiring! I hope this brings a little sunshine your way! ENJOY!

These sensational ideas and lessons will motivate your students and transcend them into the brilliant land of learning where they will discover ways to become life long learners in a melodious classroom environment that fosters and values teaching and learning. A place where each child is treasured for his uniqueness and will become an active member of your classroom.
I learned a LOOOOOng time ago that a little sweetness goes a long way so I have tried to look at the positive side of life as a retired teacher of 30+ years, a wife, mom and Mimi of three. Who doesn’t want to visit their Mimi and experience a reality “Candyland” game with all kinds of forbidden pleasures like lollipops, Hershey hugs and kisses, cupcakes, brownies and all those sugary treats, They can visit and experience the sweetness of Mimi’s and then go back home on a sugary high!
My teaching style was and still is to keep all lessons dazzling, fun, hands on and whatever each child needs to learn and grow! I LOVE to differentiate instruction as much as I can! Let’s face it, each year you get a classroom full of kiddos as different as a box of chocolates...Each piece might look pretty much the same on the outside, but when you take a bite, you can see and taste the difference...all sugary and sweet, but different in many ways!
I hope you enjoy using all these lessons and ideas as much as I did during my teaching career. Have fun and remember to enjoy each day because it is definitely a SWEET TREAT!!
