Some of our most current reviews from Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Review Crew (August, 2016)
"I would highly recommend this program to other families and I say that because we have personally seen success with it".
--As They Grow Up Review
"We have used many different programs over the years to give the kids some level of fluency. Some we've loved, some we've hated, some have just confused us, but today I am going to tell you about one of my personal favorites, Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids."
---4 Little Penguins Review
"I was amazed at how quick we were all able to learn Spanish words. It uses words that are needed for conversational skills, and my sons and I have been able to use these words to communicate in our new surroundings. I took Spanish in high school for 3 years, and I wish it was easy as this. I learned words that weren't even taught to me after 3 years of learning a foreign language. I would highly recommend this excellent program for an introduction to Spanish for elementary and middle school learners".

As A Veteran Spanish Teacher, I Cannot Recommend FLFK Strongly Enough!
As an elementary level Spanish teacher, I can think of no finer tool for introducing foreign language than Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids. The program is immersive, strategic and lots of fun. My students were engaged, excited and using the language outside of class with family and friends. That's because FLK delivers a coherent and authentic experience with characters the kids love and relevant situations that make therm laugh and learn simultaneously. The colorful, engaging workbooks are invaluable, whether online or paper versions, for reinforcing vocabulary and grammar. The other day a teacher told me that her students were disappointed that Spanish had been cancelled because of changes in our schedule that day. The teacher told them that if they had Spanish they would miss recess. Their response: "We'd rather have Spanish than recess!!!" Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids is a leap forward in foreign language acquisition for kids--and for their parents, too! (I bought my copy directly from the vendor.)
The story plot and line keeps you engaged and you will be excited to see what comes next

The three amigos, (in this case, the three brothers) help to teach young and old the spanish language in a full on immersion video, that is set to easily teach you conversational spanish from the very first video in the series of 7. The story plot and line keeps you engaged and you will be excited to see what comes next .. all while forgetting you are truly learning a new language as you watch. Because the scenes are easily understood, the foreign language loses its chilling effect and becomes a welcome guest in your home. Excellent resource for families, for homeschoolers, preschools, daycares or classroom. This is sure to be a hit for all. They also offer other materials to combine with this to give you a complete learning environment. It does not get much better or easier than this. Check their site to see what all is available. --Family Review Center, 2014
If you are looking to introduce Spanish to your children, whether to succeed in school, to communicate with others, or if traveling to a Spanish-speaking nation, you would be well advised to check out this educational DVD. Produced exclusively in Spanish, parents felt that this technique was a great way to immerse kids in the language. The system used helps children understand what is being taught by putting a corresponding picture on the screen at the same time a word or phrase is spoken. If there is something that can t be shown in a picture they have kids act out the word. The episodes were quite funny and well acted. The three brothers in the story are humorous and entertaining, eliciting laughter and smiles from viewers. Testers explained that it took just minutes for their initial hesitation, reluctance and intimidation about learning Spanish to wear off and they found themselves drawn into the episode. To their surprise and delight they reported that they could actually figure out what was going on fairly quickly. --National Parenting Center, 2013
Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids (FLK) has two introductory Spanish DVDs with optional ancillary components that teach Spanish to children from as young as preschool level up into the teen years. This is an immersion approach, but the videos are carefully designed to make the content comprehendible for those who have no prior exposure to Spanish. Videos feature only child actors who appear in a series of skits, thus the for kids by kids in the company s name. The children are of various ages up into the teens... All of the conversations are in Spanish, although those conversations tend to use fairly simple vocabulary most of the time. Skits are orchestrated to emphasize particular words or phrases, sometimes repeating the same vocabulary in a number of different contexts. For example, to teach children how to tell how old they are, one child interviews many different children to ask them their age. Children respond with various phrases so that those watching learn not just one simple response but a few possible responses. Words are often overlaid on the videos so that children who are able to read can see how the words are spelled as well as how they are pronounced. Children on the videos generally speak more slowly than normal Spanish speakers, so it is generally easy to make out what they are saying. FLK videos were filmed with multiple cameras in colorful settings, and they were professionally edited and produced to include lively background music. DVDs are introduced with a flight theme by a young boy dressed as a pilot, and the three segments on each DVD are called flights. The flight theme pops up other places from time to time. Each DVD has a total run time of about 45 minutes. A suggested schedule page that came with my DVDs recommends that children watch the first segment straight through on the first day, then re-watch it in segments a few times so that children have plenty of time to absorb the vocabulary and usage. Each segment concludes with a rapid visual review of the vocabulary that has been introduced in that segment. The first video introduces three brothers whose interactions dominate most of the skits. One likes to eat while the other two like to read and play basketball; their personalities and preferences are fodder for some of the other skits. In the three segments on the first DVD, we learn basic conversational vocabulary such as hola, gracias, donde esta? (where is it?), words related to breakfast, pelotas (basketballs), and grande y pequeño (large and small). The second video teaches words related to lunch and colors as well as other frequently-used words. For example in the The Wacky Rainbow Restaurant, the children argue about whether or not they like leche verde (green milk) using me gusta (I like). A third DVD should be available by late 2014. Video lessons on the DVDs are also available online with a free 48-hour trial period. I highly recommend the optional sets of stickers that correlate with the first DVD if you are working with children who can recognize words. Children (or adults) can place the stickers on objects around the house that will reinforce the vocabulary. Stickers are at least 1.5 inches high and generally from 2.5 to 3.5 inches wide with large lettering, so they are easy to see. Older students probably at least third grade level and up might want to also use the FLK Airlines On-Board Activity Books. These are very attractive and colorful workbooks that reinforce and expand upon what was presented in the videos... All of the FLK materials are of high quality and beautifully presented. Most children will want to use them! The immersion approach on the DVDs coupled with the workbooks should be very effective, and the game is really the icing on the cake.
A Fun, Engaging Spanish Program That Teaches Itself!
by: Rebecca Spooner
I am currently enrolled in the online video subscription at www.foreignlanguagesforkids.com. It includes all the videos at a monthly or yearly rate.
I have been using it with my 5 kids for over a month and the results are blowing me away! My children are young, 3, 5, 6, and 7. We watch it about 3 times a week during breakfast. They have memorized all the words and vocabulary in this first video. They understand the meaning of the words, use proper pronunciation, etc. The sessions are funny and engaging, my kids love watching other kids just living life and relating to the characters. I love that it is immersion with no one telling you what the words mean. instead they show you through clips, acting out, demonstrations, etc. After a few times of watching it you will have a clear understanding of what is being said.
When someone tells you something, a fact or reading a lesson, it is easy to disengage, let the words kind of roll over you, it often doesn't set in as true knowledge. Whereas when you are being entertained you WANT to understand! You sit a little closer to the edge of your seat, you pay close attention to what is happening in the scene. When you finally get it it stays with you and you don't forget because you worked for that knowledge and wanted it!
This is the beauty behind Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids. You remember, you learn very quickly, it sticks with you. You don't have to force your kids to do their lessons, they want to! You don't have to teach yet another program or curriculum, this one teaches itself! It takes very little time out of your day and is worth every second of it!
I highly recommend this program to any educator, parent, homeschooler, etc. If you are on the fence about the DVD head over to www.foreignlanguagesforkids.com to check out their online subscriptions. They are very reasonably priced and you get access to all the great quizzes, workbooks, and videos in the series.
I have spent a lot of time teaching kids Spanish and this is a fabulous tool.
By: Douglas R. Stevens
I have spent a lot of time teaching kids Spanish and this is a fabulous tool. The secret is that children learn without realizing they are learning. It is sort of like extending the magic years of infancy when little ones learn by osmosis. The scenes capture the attention, and the brain learns almost on automatic pilot. I am so old that I am familiar with most of the old dialogue teaching systems. This is a great system.

If you want your child to learn Spanish, I highly recommend this DVD. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas to help her before she takes her first class. I was amazed at how much she learned and remembered. It’s very clever and funny which makes learning easy. In the video, the words you learned are showed in writing and pronounced verbally. The scenes in which these words are introduced are really easy to understand and fun to watch. Awesome DVD. I will definitely buy the next level.
Teaching Languages To Children
The DVD is excellent for making a transition from school language teaching to seeing the language in action. It is spoken by young children and young adults in light-hearted skits. As well, the seller went above and beyond to correct a problem when the first DVD was not working. The company was generous and wonderful to work with. Thank you.
My Students Love It!
by: Martha Lopez
I bought this DVD to use for my Spanish class. I was really pleased to see how my students enjoy this video and how this video holds their attention every time I play it. After using this video I asked my students what Spanish words they had learned and I was very surprised to see they have learned or reinforced a very good number of words. I am definitely happy to have found a video that teaches Spanish in a fun and dynamic way. My students are learning and having fun with this video and without noticing they are learning more as they continue watching it. As a Spanish teacher I fully recommend this video.
A Great Introduction to Spanish
by: Candie D Gala
As a homeschooling Mom teaching Kindergarten this year, I really enjoyed learning Spanish with my daughter using Foreign Languages for Kids by Kids. The high quality videos showing kids speaking Spanish in natural situations were fun to watch. We wanted to watch them again and again and my five year old learned enough Spanish to use it at breakfast the next day! The workbook pages and games reinforce new vocabulary and enhance the program by incorporating reading and spelling. I would use this curriculum for kids 5 and up as a no fuss way to introduce the Spanish language to kids. I received a free trial of the program in exchange for my honest review, I was not required to write a positive review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Finally A Language Learning Series Older Children Will Enjoy!
This video series is by far the best program out there for older children! My seven year old daughter started 2nd grade at a Spanish language immersion school this year, and we really wanted to find an at home program to supplement her learning experience that was engaging as well as educational. All of the other programs we looked at were geared towards babies and toddlers, and frankly bored her. When we found this series, I was afraid that once again she would turn her nose up at the videos. But to my delight, she actually enjoyed watching the videos... and wanted to watch more... and I enjoy watching and learning with her!
I highly recommend these videos to any parent who has a child in a language immersion school (or anyone wanting their child to learn Spanish), as this series reinforces the same ideas of learning a language through exposure and conversation in kid friendly, humor infused skits.
Amazing! Review from a Mother of Five
I have 5 children from age 7 to 15. I have been looking for a fun way to get my younger children to be interested in learning Spanish for a long time without much fruit. I couldn't find any that was interesting to my children. Then I came across with this dvd and it was amazing! Not only my younger children but also two older ones liked to watch it with their siblings and enjoy it a lot. My three younger children who never learned Spanish before, began to say things in Spanish very next day! The stories are very engaging and funny which draw children's attention like magnet.
It is also good review for my older children who already started learning Spanish at school. I highly recommend this dvd. It is very effective way to learn Spanish.
