This set includes 11 pages of CVC words and pictures for decoding and matching.
Students will cut the words and pictures apart, read the words, and find the matching picture. They will glue the pair onto a plain sheet of paper. I use spiral notebooks as sorting notebooks; my students glue the pairs in that.
This can be done as morning work, during word work time, small groups, or as a center activity. It could also be used as a quick assessment of decoding skills.
I have a high number of ELL students. They need support and instruction in basic vocabulary such as: pot-vs-pan, what is a pup?, what is a cob? what is a hut?, etc.... This set provides practice for those vocabulary words and many more.

Teaching Under the Sun
Hi, my name is Candice Krogh. I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University in 1995. Since then I have taught Pre-K, ESE Pre-K, First and Kindergarten. I currently teach in South Florida. I have seen many changes over the years. I started making products to keep the fun in Kindergarten and to fill a need when I saw one. I hope you see something you can use. Enjoy!
