Vos élèves feront la conception d'une armoirie qui les représentent. Students design a coat of arms that represents themselves.

Voici une excellente ressource pour apprendre à vos élèves les composantes des armoiries du Moyen Âge. Un cours texte qui explique la raison derrière les armoiries est inclus. Le projet est divisé en 7 étapes simples. Les élèves choisissent des animaux, des symboles et des couleurs qui les représentent pour concevoir leurs propres armoiries. Ils pourront aussi choisir entre 2 différentes formes de bouclier. Enfin, ils écriront un cours paragraphe qui expliquera leurs choix. Les armoiries de l’Ontario sont utilisées comme exemple dans le texte, par contre, les élèves pourraient profiter de faire une recherche sur Internet pour comparer plusieurs différentes armoiries.

Les feuilles de routes, les feuilles de travail et une grille d’évaluation sont incluses avec ce projet.

This is a great resource to teach your students about coat of arms and is perfect for your Medieval Times unit. It includes a handout that explains the purpose of a coat of arms. The assignment is laid out into 7 simple steps. Students will create a coat of arms using animals, symbols, colours and a motto that represent themselves or their family. A small image and meaning is included with each animal, symbol and colour. Students can choose from 2 different shield shapes. Finally, they will write a short paragraph to explain their choices. The coat of arms for Ontario is included in the handouts as an example, however, students may benefit from seeing a variety of examples that can easily be
found on the Internet.

Included with this activity are student handouts, worksheets and a rubric for assessment.
