Product Description

Frogs: Informational Unit for Primary Grades– Informative Slideshow, Anchor Charts, Writing Materials, and Printable Worksheets! Use these anchor charts and printable worksheets to spruce up your frog life cycle unit! In this set you will find a PowerPoint slideshow along with many anchor charts and printables that are designed to provide a rich and exciting learning experience for your primary students as they learn about frogs!

Contents (2 files zipped together):

PowerPoint File
“All About Frogs” Informational Slideshow with Photographs (14 Slides)

PDF File (Frogs Unit)

Pages 4-15 can be printed and displayed on the wall or in a science center for children to reference as they write and draw about frogs. If you wish to save some ink, you can set your printer to print the full page anchor charts (p. 4-11) two to a page. The smaller size may work better for a science center.

Pages 17-23 can be used to guide students toward doing informational writing about frogs. Start with the KWL chart and some non-fiction reading about frogs (the included slideshow is great for this) . Follow the reading with a “can, have, are” anchor chart. To make this, glue or tape the headings on page 19 to a large piece of chart paper. Have the students come up with information to include in each column. (You can use the sample on page 18 as a guide.) Later, have the students complete their own “can, have, are” chart (page 20), which will lead into some of the writing activities that follow.

Pages 38-53 are duplicate PDF pages of the included PowerPoint slideshow. Some teachers choose to print these out to make a book.

The rest of the packet is filled with thematic printables for your students to practice their language arts and math skills!
