  • Emedia Violin Starter Kit Review
    May 31, 2016

We ordered this starter kit for my 6 year old daughter. She loves her violin and the lessons on the interactive program. Helping her with her lessons made me want to learn violin too so I ordered a separate violin for myself and I use her interactive program to learn too. So far it is really great. The quality of the violins is less than that of the typical violin that you would rent from a musical instrument store, but it is just perfect for the beginner. The quality is good for the price paid. The starter kit also came with a bow and rosin and extra strings and a case for the violin as well as a cloth to cover the violin and a silly bag to put the violin in. The lessons on the interactive disk are easy to understand and fun. I have recommended this product to SO many people since ordering it and I recommend it to all who read this.

  • OK for a starter
    May 03, 2016

I guess it's ok for a starter. The tuning pegs do not stay in place, therefore it cannot be tuned. We are working with someone on fixing this problem. I have also noticed that the strings on the bow don't stay tight either.

  • Great place to begin learning
    Apr 25, 2016

We haven't actually done very much with this yet, but the violin seems satisfactory, and my daughter is looking forward to learning to play! Seems like a good product for the price.

  • Very pleased
    Apr 25, 2016

My daughter is thrilled with this instrument. It is a but tricky to keep tuned but it is wonderful for the price and meets the needs of a beginner without breaking the bank.

  • Love it!
    Apr 18, 2016

My daughter and I each have one and have enjoyed working together to learn to play. Our only issue we have is the tuning keys on one of them seem loose.

  • OK Starter kit for kids
    Apr 13, 2016

It was ok, a little smaller than I expected since it said full size. It's very cheaply made so I'm not sure how long it will hold up for a 12 yr old. When it came, the strings were so loose I had to restring most of them. Was hard to download on my Macbook for the CD. Wish it would have just came with a link to click on from an email or website instead. I followed the directions but it took 3 attempts before it would fully download and open up. We haven't used the program yet. My daughter was so excited when I ordered it and it first came but lost interest by the time I got it all ready to go for her to start playing. Will try again soon hopefully.

  • Good start.
    Apr 11, 2016

I was expecting the instrument to be of a little higher quality but it will be a good one to start out on.

  • Love this product!
    Feb 29, 2016

Having only played the viola, I was a little nervous to hear that my son wanted to play violin. The violin is beautiful and the instructional CD-ROM is effective. The lessons are short and engaging. My son loves it!

  • Great Starter kit
    Feb 20, 2016

This is a great starter kit. I, for one, have little experience with string instruments. The kit arrived and we set to work setting it up. It took a bit of time but I am pleased with our progress thus far. I have just gotten the software installed but haven't had the chance to tune the violin or allow my 5yo son to play much yet. I am sure it will be fantastic! On a side note, I had to contact customer support with eMedia and they were very pleasant and responded very quickly!!

  • Very Impressed
    Jan 22, 2016

My daughter wanted to play right away. They only negative is that the CD tutorial doesn't play on our media device. I will be looking into other options.

  • Be cautious.
    Sep 10, 2015

The strings arrived loose, it feels like it's made of plastic, and we are questioning our wisdom in buying this. I'll post more after we try it out a bit more.

  • My son is loving his new violin!
    Aug 21, 2015

My son has wanted to learn the violin for the last few years. It can get super expensive, so I have been holding off. However, I saw this deal and couldn't pass it up. The Violin is high quality and my son is already starting to get the hang of it. I'm not going to lie, our house is now a lot louder with this thing, but I love seeing the smile on his face when he improves. Totally worth the investment!
