Juggling cupcakes? A googly-eyed periscope? A pig wearing a hat? You just never know what animated surprise your child will uncover when they play the uKloo Early Reader App.
uKloo Early Reader App is a fun seek-and-find literacy game for ages four and up. The app extends the real world game play of uKloo Early Reader Treasure Hunt seamlessly into a mobile experience for kids. It encourages kids to look up word clues, search the play screen and discover surprises along the way! There’s even a picture helper to look up words when kids get stuck. Soon, your child will be reading without even realizing it!

My daughter loves this app! The funny pop up surprises keeps it interesting and fun.
My children both loved this app! My kindergartner has been struggling with reading and this app made it fun to learn. My first grader loves reading so I set it at the max level for him and he likes to play it as well.
Thanks for your thoughts on the uKloo app! I wanted to point out that there is a picture dictionary in that app, much like in the physical uKloo Early Reader game. If your child touches the dictionary icon to the right of the "clue" they will be brought to a picture dictionary where they can match the words and hear the words spoken. This is intended to encourage sight reading and offer the child some first research experience. The instructions are voiced over if you touch the question mark in the top right hand corner.
I believe the app is good but could be better. I would have preferred the words to be highlighted and spoken when it appears . I like the idea that it covers the pictures when it shows. On this app it just shows a sentence which is a hint to where the ukloo card is. The kids wanted to do it on their own but couldn't so instead of reading I found them zooming onto the pictures until they found the card. So they were not reading the words. For this as an early reader there should be a button next to the sentence for them to click and have those words slowly highlighted when spoken, especially for those children that want to do it on their own.
