I have a wonderful hubby ( high school sweetheart) of 33 years. 4 grown kids & 4 grandkids! This allows me some flexibilty...wife, mom, grandma, teacher, curriculum creator, etc. etc..:)

I am a 22-year veteran teacher, always in GRADE 1 ! I have taught at a Title 1 school for most of my career. I have been a district laison teacher, a BTSA support provider, a master teacher for new teachers, and a site lead teacher for many years. I have a reading specialist certificate, and currently have 18 EL students ( of 25) in my class.

My teaching style has developed over the years. I like a structured class, where my students feel respected and free to make choices. I enjoy the "buzz" of learning discussions within the classroom. My favorite time of the day, is when we come to the "reading table" to "show off". Show me what you know! I play music, we chant, we dance, and we laugh. I like to have educational games available for both non-readers and gifted students. I also hold my students accountable for their learning. I try to instill in them the love of LEARNING for a lifetime.
