This 92-page set of math journal prompts is just right for students in third grade. There are 2 versions of each prompt. They cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, base ten, greater than/less than, fractions, number lines, rounding, telling time to five minutes, measurement, graphing, and geometry.

Students can use these prompts in their math journals. The prompts can be cut out and glued at the top of the page. The student uses the rest of the page to illustrate and answer the problem. Math journals work well as a way for students to illustrate their mathematical thinking, and as a record for assessment and parent/teacher conferences.

Most of my 17 years of experience were spent teaching pre-K and kindergarten. I also have experience teaching up to 3rd grade. I have used my love of reading to develop a set of 30 phonics-based beginning reading books for use in preschool-first grade. In addition, I have developed sets of reading games and math games that can be used in the classroom or as take-home activities and can be adjusted to address various skill levels. I also have a range of hands on, cut-and-glue materials which keep young students engaged. They have proven to be a success in my own classroom and at home with my 3 little ones. I am so excited to share them!
