Subtraction Word Problems with Manipulatives (November)
There are 6 pages. Each page contains one subtraction word problem to solve. There are ten pictures/manipulatives for each problem. Students can color the manipulatives, cut them out and glue them in the box provided to solve the problem. There is also an equation containing blanks, a minus sign, and an equals sign for students to write the equation to match their picture. An option to gluing the manipulatives is to draw the solution to the problem and use the manipulatives to solve many oral word problems as a whole class. The 6 word problems are about corn, pies, Indians, pilgrims, pilgrim hats, and turkeys.

I am a kindergarten teacher with 22 years of teaching experience! I received my Doctor of Education degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University in June 2010. The title of my doctoral study is "Writing Conferences in Kindergarten: Using Feedback to Enhance Student Writing." My passion is teaching writing to my students and providing feedback for their writing experiences. I love teaching kindergarten. It is amazing to see students enter the classroom not even knowing how to hold a pencil and watching them become readers and writers by the end of the year. I love teaching in small groups and rotating student groups with literacy centers and math centers.
