This craftivity was created with the intention of briefly reviewing all parts of our solar system, such as the sun, the planets, the moon, asteroids, comets, and meteorites. In addition to covering these science concepts, it is a great opportunity to provide your students with practice reading nonfiction text to build fluency, vocabulary, and background knowledge.
This packet contains a reading booklet to guide students to understanding the sun, the moon, the rocky planets, the gas planets, and space (asteroids, meteors, meteorites, and comets) along with the pages necessary to create the craftivity. Students will then list three facts related to the reading guide booklet. This comes with everything you need - just print and go! There is no need to schedule research time for your students!

I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors in Science degree and an elementary education certificate. I am certified to teach K-8 Self-Contained and Middle School Science. I have taught ever since graduation, with most of my experience in 5th grade. I'm currently completing my Masters program in Differentiation. I utilize a lot of differentiated strategies along with the workshop model in reading, writing, math, and sometimes science. I love more hands-on activities that are related to real life for students to explore. I'm not a huge fan of worksheets, but do use them occasionally.
