Product Description

I have started a new journey in my creations based on my own toddler who will soon be in Pre-Kindergarten. Eeek! This line of products are dedicated to my work at home with her. So that’s why you see her name on the cover page & the little red headed girl!

So, what are sensory motor skills?
First lets start with sensory detection, no sensory function works in isolation. Our senses work together and build upon each other. Sensory detections are~ hearing, vision, smell, taste, touch and lastly a balance and spatial perception. We use these sensory detections to carry out tasks using our motor skills. Our sensory detections communicate to our brain and then throughout our body. There are a wide variety of motor skills including~ gross and fine motor skills, rhythm and timing, muscle tone, strength, coordination, reflexes and more. Children who use their sensory detections through different explorations and activities to practice motor skill activity will increase balance, stability and muscle tone to be able to take on larger tasks.

Preparation:
Everything is in black and white to help save $ on ink. You can print on white or colored paper, or on white or colored cardstock. You will need to laminate and cut for durability. I like to keep everything in large laminated envelopes using the title pages. You can also use zip-lock bags or Tupperware.

Other Supplies Needed:
You will need the following products to complete activities~ play-doh, q-tips, paint, clothespins, linking chains [or you can use pipe cleaners] and sand.
