Pocket Chart Sentences: Sight Words (I, have, a) and Color Words (Pencils)
This Pocket Chart Activity for color words and Sight Words (I, have, a) is great for a literacy/writing center or for students who finish their work early. These sentences focus on color words and sight words (I, have, a). Creating or unscrambling each sentence helps the students focus on looking for the capital letter for the first word in the sentence and looking for the ending punctuation mark for the last word. The words that go together to make a complete sentence all have the same pictures on the card. Also, each sentence has the words written in matching colors so that students can sort the cards by color/picture, and then put the sentence in the correct order by finding the capital letter and ending punctuation mark.
The following color words are included: black, blue, brown, gray, green, orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow.
After the students correctly unscramble each sentence, they can write the complete sentence on the recording sheet provided. This provides evidence for the teacher showing what sentences the students unscramble in the center.
Five of the pocket chart cards (after the yellow ones) and one of the recording sheets have a black and white pencil outline without any words to use as you would like.
Writing sheets are also included with only color words written in black without pictures for higher level students. Instead of having the word with matching picture to write a sentence about, the students have to identify the color words and find the matching color word sentence to write. There are so many different possibilities for these word/picture cards and writing pages.

To Use: Print each page on cardstock, laminate for durability, cut apart, and put the cards in a Ziploc bag and put in a literacy/writing center with a pocket chart for students to unscramble.
