This 20 page common core packet contains language arts and math material for the month of January. Pages have January graphics such as snowmen, penguins, snowflakes, hats, mittens, and scarves. The skills included are basic skills that students would be learning during the first half of their kindergarten year.
Skills included are: Language Arts: -Writing the beginning sound for: bear, football, net, gift, robot, car, door, monkey, turtle, pumpkin, hand, lips, seal, jar, and vest. -Tracing word wall words (sight words): will, they, went, make, and ran. -Tracing a sentence with each word wall word included above. -Writing the missing vowel in the words: bag, wig, mug, net, dog, rat, pig, bed, mop, rug, man, leg, log, bug, and lid. -Writing a sentence about a winter picture. -Write the CVC words for each picture: map, bug, lid, pen, top, cat, mug, lip, ten, pot, rat, rug, fin, bed, and dot. -Identifying the number of syllables in words -Coloring the pictures with the correct beginning sound for letters a, k, e, y, i, w, o, z, u, and q. -Identifying rhyming pairs
Math: -Showing numbers 11-20 on a ten frame. -Counting sets to 20, writing the number, and identifying which set is greater than, less than, or equal. -Counting on from a number 1-20 -writing the number than comes before and after for 1-20
This common core packet is great for morning work, but can also be used for homework, literacy centers, writing centers, math centers, or a mini lesson.
