Will they be able to keep the MOD they create after the year is over? Will they have the still have access to the professional software after the year or will that be an additional cost?

Hi there - they will be able to keep the professional software as well as keep their MOD and continue working on it after the first year. Only the videos and online teacher support are limited to one year.

The literature states that "Mod Design 1 works on the following operating systems: Windows 7, 8, Vista or XP,Mac: OS 10.7 or higher, 64-bit (after 2008)". Minecraft is compatible with Linux Unbuntu 14.04 and uses Java 7 successfully. That said, can the Mod Design 1 be used on Linux?

Our course is compatible with Windows and Mac only. I hope that helps but let us know if you need anything else.

Hello. My son is 8 years old and we are located in Italy. Will he still be able to do the program? (Language isn't a problem).
Asked by a Parent on June 14th, 2016
Yes - absolutely. The program is in English, but if language isn't an issue, then the only thing you need is a wireless connection.

I have twins. Do I need to purchase two of these or can they both use the same one?
Asked by a Homeschooler and Parent on June 8th, 2016
Hi there. Each student needs their own subscription because of the project work that is managed and graded. Please let us know if you need anything else.
I as SO excited to get this to review and my 13 year old son was too! He learned a ton and was able to complete the course all on his own! Youth Digital is a great company and we look forward to more classes with them!

Screen Share when we need help.

I bought Mod Design 1 for my kids and they’re loving the tools they’re building to use with the game. I thought it would be confusing for them but we tried out the help options when we were stuck with a particular string of code. We loved that we were able to chat with someone immediately and the screenshare with someone was even more helpful when we were stuck.

We took advantage of this deal last time it was on the site and my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm always looking for resources that can teach her something that goes over my head, but I did a few of the lessons along with her and found it very easy to use and understand! She's asked me for more Minecraft learning games like this so I'm considering the Server Design 1 program for Christmas.

Preparing my kids for the future!
Sep 26, 2015
It's no secret programming and coding is going to be a required skill to function in the future just like knowing how to read, write, and at least be able to do algebraic equations. With that said, I bought Learn to Code with Minecraft BECAUSE my kids already understand the game and I must say, I'm truly impressed by the service and quality of this program.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their share screen feature which is when you get stuck on something, you have the option to stop and learn from a tutorial, message a teacher, or reach out to one of their tech to share your screen so they can point out where you went wrong. Of course, there's always Youtube to find the answer ourselves but it's nice to have different options within the tutorial to help make everything easier to learn.
Once you make it, you use it! My kids were making all kinds of useful tools to the game and were able to test it, then use it right there!
I feel this is a learning tool both you, the parent, and the child should go through together depending on how young your children are. Mine are 7 & 9 but I'm only working with my nine year old for now. Don't expect to just give this to your child to figure out on their own even though I honestly believe my child could actually learn without me as the tutorials are simple and straight forward. I give it about another two months and my kid will be way ahead of me to the point she will use me as a review activity instead of a teacher. :P
