Is there a way to pay monthly for this? I was excited when it was advertised for 10.00 per month and disappointed when it turned out you have to pay it all up front. Not everyone has that much extra laying around. :(

Asking on behalf of a comment on the Educents Blog: is there a way to pick and chose which kits you get? we wont need the Air kit as it looks to have balloons and my children are allergic to latex. but the acid, fungi, human body, and star ones look really and sound really fun. thanks. I am running afterschool science program. We would to use this kit for 12 students in a class. Can we order and ship 12 kits, and ship them all at once?
Asked on July 28th, 2016
Usually we can ship them all at once, but we don't have all 12 kits in stock at the moment. You can also check out our school packs that Educents is offering at a discount. These are used in many after school programs around the country. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance. The Young Scientists Club

I just signed up and the promo was free shipping. Does that apply to this offer? I live in Canada and would have to pay and extra $24 shipping.
Asked by a Homeschooler and Parent on July 18th, 2016
Thank you for your question. The free shipping is for the US only and to ship to Canada is only $24 for the year ($2 per kit which is a lot less than the actual shipping). If you have any further questions, please contact Educents directly. The Young Scientists Club
Answered by The Young Scientists Club on July 18th, 2016
We were excited for the first shipment...until we found out we needed extra materials not included. Materials found in many homes yes, but not mine and I will have to make special purchases to do this first set of acid and base tests. We love magic school bus, but so far these kits have us Uninspired. Still early, we have high hopes for the rest of the year!

Love it so far
Jul 11, 2016
We have received one kit so far and we love it. The only drawback is that there are things that are not really relevant to a 5 almost 6 year old. The hands on activities are great and the information provided is awesome but in this lesson it required making flash cards and my child can not read yet. I do read then to her but I think they are more intended for a child that reads.

Good experience. But did not include all the materials and a few materials did not work.

I wish the kit included everything needed to perform the experiments. Flour, ok, we have that. But we don't drink sodas or buy newspapers so having to buy a newspaper, 2 liter and a half liter bottle just for this is wasteful. Hopefully next month will require less additional material.

Fun and Educational
May 24, 2016
We are long time fans of the magic school bus videos so it's no surprise they love the kits too. My 4 and 6 year old sat and listened to me read over all 5 experiments that came in this months kit at one time. We are excited to get started with it soon. It does require some additional things like a soda bottle and a newspaper this month but that can be easily obtained. I can see how each month will be an exciting time with the magic school bus.

Everything is there to do the experimentsame. What's not to love? It's simple and engaging. All the information is there to teach so you don't need to "google" the answers. I love it.

I love Magic School Bus
May 17, 2016
Just started this subscription but I have bought the solar system kit before which I love. We received the weather kit and its cool but it requires 5 different plastic bottles that 1) I have to go buy that I normally wouldn't because I don't drink soda or bottled water and 2) I can't find the sizes they are referring to.

Bus loads of fun!

We are riding the wave of fun learning with this product! I'm homeschooling a kindergartener and preschooler and the projects are easy, fun and engaging! It's very parent involved, so they can't yet get in the drivers seat with steering the project....but it's a fun ride!

we have just started it but so far it is fantastic, the kids love it and i can find episodes that i can put with it. like we are doing the weather experiments right now so i always start our science section off with a MSB episode that will relate to it.

I was very intrigued by these kits since I was looking for a new science program and with this I could combine my 5 and 10 year olds together. The kits are inclusive with the materials needed and I love that I can correspond with the books and tv show episodes. My kids are looking forward to science each month!

This could not get any easier! A few weeks before receiving my kit, I was emailed a list of supplies that I would need, as well as magic school bus books/videos that discussed the subject for that month. I was able to reserve the materials online with my local library. We have several hours of quality instruction by just following the steps.
And best of all, my son loves it! He's 6 and the subject matter can easily be adjusted up or down to accommodate for learning level.

We love these kits!
May 02, 2016
The kids ages are 9, 7 and 4 and they really like these kids. We unschool so this brings science into the house in a fun way. The first kit we did led to other discussions, pulling out the microscope, books on microscopic things to look at, etc.

Worth it for 5-9 year olds
Mar 18, 2016
We are enjoying the kits. Can do most of the kit in 1 day, so far. I use it as supplementary science so I don't have to buy individual things for that unit. Worth it when on sale; spending under $100 for 12 kits to have a science unit planned it a good value for homeschoolers.

I love this tv serious and the book series as well. I really expected more from these kits. Although they offer a few fun and educational activities in each kit, I don't feel they are worth the price. Many activities are redundant.

Best Science Kits
Mar 02, 2016
I have 4 children to homeschool. They each learn a different way. I am able to take these lessons and materials and allow each of my children to experience a fundamental lesson in science their own way! I love it!!! I highly recommend it! I even plan on redoing these lessons year after year as my kids continue to advance through school. Again, excellent program! You will not be disappointed!!!

Magic School Bus Science Kit
Mar 01, 2016
This is such an amazing way to teach your child all about Science . Our Granddaughter loves getting these in the mail every month. I Homeschool her and these Science kits are awesome. The kids get to do them, with little help from an Adult. The price is great and well worth it. I recommend this to those who Homeschool.

Just what we needed!
Mar 01, 2016
My younger children (ages 4, 6, and 8) were already watching Magic School Bus for their weekly Science learning, and this is just we needed to bring it all together! My kids can't wait to get it from the mailbox each month!

we do it different
Mar 01, 2016
I love what all comes in each kit, allows us to do about 1 project a week. We don't typically do each one but I love having them all in kits and being able to pull them out when I need them. Their super easy to do and the books that come with them my daughter loves to do. Their a great addition to our science.

So far it seems good
Feb 27, 2016
Our current science curriculum is severely lacking so it is very nice to have experiments where we actually talk about and experience science. I was hoping that each kit would come with everything we'd need for every experiment but only about 90% of the materials were included. Luckily I had the necessary items for almost every experiment but there was at least one that we weren't able to complete. Since each month comes with several experiments, missing one or two that convey the same scientific principle is not a big deal. We will continue to use and enjoy these kits.

Simple but exciting
Feb 26, 2016
My young kids (ages 6, 7, and 11) love these experiments. You do have to have a few things on hand, like lemon juice, pennies and a nail, that they don't send you, but they're not difficult things to obtain and you usually already have them in your house. I had one issue where they sent the wrong type of litmus paper, but sent one email and they mailed me exactly what was missing within a week. Excellent!

Great Add-On to Make Science Come Alive
Feb 25, 2016
We are using the monthly kits to supplement our science curriculum. It's a fun way for the kids to get hands on experience. I have found that my kids learn better by doing than reading a textbook. These kits are a great reinforcement to lessons we are learning!

Fun for reviewing or younger children
Feb 25, 2016
So far we only received our January kit. Waiting on February delivery that was due to ship on 2/15. It's 2/25. So I can't review any others yet.
For the kit we did get, I felt it was a great kit for beginners, and good for reviews. She has a great love for science and watches the old magic schoolbus shows for fun tv time so I figured we would try it. The kit we did get we did all 7 experiments in 1 day, but like she is a science lover and likes to do everything at once. It was great that the experiments built on eachother to be able to complete all 7 without jumping around. Many of our other kits haven't built on each prior experiment like that and it frustrate her to no end. So, yes, I would recommend Magic School Bus.

Fun and easy to use.
Feb 22, 2016
My three younger kids did the experiments on their own today. The magnets provided were rather weak and the magnetite stone didn't work but I t wasn't a total fail as we had our own magnets already. I really love how the pages are laid out. The explanations are easy to understand and interesting. My kids love magic school bus so it was fun to have familiar characters.

So far my eight year old loves this . . . He had so much fun while learning too. He is now looking forward to this month's science projects - he checks the mail daily as we are hitting the middle of the month (which was my requested delivery time). Wonderful addition to his education :)!

My children are 3-5 years old and they soak these experiments up! I'm excited to keep the manuals and do them all again when they are older and can understand even more of the science behind them! I see how this set can span the ages. Fun. Interactive. Great price. Easy for the youngest scientist to experiment with yet can easily be used with upper elementary kids to delve deeper! Great science resource!

We love Science!
Feb 13, 2016
We subscribed to the Magic School bus Monthly Science experiment kits. We got our first kit last month. It was about Solids, Liquids, and Gases. My son is 6 and he really had so much fun doing these experinents. It was awesome to see him grasp the concepts and he loved the hands on aspects. I grew up watching Magic School bus and I'm happy to be able to share it with my child now. We are awaiting this month's kit which will be about Magnets. I think it is a great product. Anything that gets kids excited to learn in my book is fantastic.

Amazing and Fun Hands On Science Learning
Dec 26, 2015
This was perfect for my 4-6 year olds, and I think something that would be suitable for children under middle school age. It is a fun, interactive pack your child gets each month and includes many different experiments. Our first pack had 7 experiments, so it lasts the whole month for learning until the next kit arrives. Each month there is also a different theme to learn about. It's also exciting because your child gets something delivered in the mail just for them each month. It gives them something to look forward to. The kit contains most of the items you need, and the things it doesn't is things you have at home like tape or scissors. There are links provided via email for further learning, but I thought the experiments with explanations were plenty. A workbook is provided with directions for the adult teaching, and also an area for students to write the result and conclusion of the experiment. I was really impressed by the hands on approach of learning, and then having it explained so that a child would understand it. I would highly recommend this! My sons love it!

Not for upper elementary grades

This is a good product for 5-8 yr olds. Any older and these kits are just too simplistic. My bright 5th grader is simply bored. It didn't work for us.

This is my first time ordering from Educents. The website is easy to use and I had a question and emailed them and received a reply on the weekend!! I had another question about a month later and got a nice personal reply. I will order from them again and tell others about my experience. Thank you!

New shipment every month!
Aug 07, 2015
We recently ordered this set to be delivered to us and we love them! The science experiments are grouped in themed science activities that my kids love! I set up a curriculum to go through the scientific process with the hypothesis, tests and theories. I feel this is perfect as a hands on activity to supplement the worksheets we download from other sellers.

Had a shipping issue but it was resolved quickly
Aug 01, 2015
We live in a small town, and sometimes we have issues with mail. Unfortunately, the first few kits never got delivered. I realized this one day when my kids were asking about science experiments and I wondered where they were. Fortunately, the customer service at Educents was great. She helped me track everything down, and figured it out for me. They sent me replacement kits and we figured out the bigger issue, which means each month they are arriving on time. My kids love them and I will totally do business with Educents again. The reason for 4 stars is because of the shipping issue and the time it took for me to realize the issue. It is not anyone's fault in particular, but I was disappointed there was an issue.

Love receiving kits every month for my kids!
Jul 23, 2015
My kids have always been a fan of Magic School Bus and science so when I stumbled across these monthly science kits, I had to try them out! They sell the kits individually at other places but you get more value with the 12-month subscription. Worth the money!

Seriously in love!
Jun 03, 2015
I seriously am in love with these things! A homeschooling friend emailed me and said… “Hey! have you even thought of getting those Magic School bus Science kits for your son?”
I was shocked when the package arrived.. talk about excitement! Each set comes with basic science safety cards, supplies you would not be able to find at home like tubes, a thermometer, stuff to make your own compass, and a science journal (not all at once - they come monthly)!
The items included in the kit are SO DURABLE and meant for little hands! I am so excited for a full year of science with the kids. They get so excited each month when it arrives!
