Key Math Words and Operations with Sort for Problem Solving This is a list I generated of key math words and their respective operations. My students have a copy of this sheet in their classroom handbooks so they can refer to it during math word problem solving lessons.
TAGS: Math 3rd Grade
Product Description

This sheet is also a perfect teaching tool to prepare all students, but especially ELL students, with word problem vocabulary for standardized testing.

*Updated to include a key word math sort, so you can easily assess if students know which key words indicate the operations or procedures to use, whether it's add, subtract, multiply, divide, find the probability, or round. Please see this companion product that goes through steps for solving word problems and asks for math key words: How to Solve Word Problems

Just a California girl, living in a teacher's world. I love teaching third grade in the Los Angeles area while creating and sharing awesome educational resources. I've been teaching elementary school since 2000, primarily in third grade but I have also taught second and fourth.  I've been a part of Whole Brain Teaching for over a decade, and believe it is the best classroom management system out there. I enjoy being able to mentor new teachers in classroom behavior management and motivational techniques to excite and engage their learners.
