Horrible Harry and the Holidaze: Winter Book Study
This is a trifold and lesson outline for the book Horrible Harry and the Holidaze. The story covers 5 holidays associated with winter, and it will make a great cross-curricular unit. They always say to teach social studies during reading! Here is an easy way to do just that.
Each holiday has questions associated with it for the students to show their learning and think critically. The questions cover a variety of Bloom's levels and require students to make text connections and text-to-self connections. In addition, a list of vocabulary words for each chapter is provided to help you plan for pre-reading.
A great literature connection that can be followed up with students talking about their own holiday traditions.
