Your students will love this unit on fables. Investigate fables while teaching close reading strategies in a fun and engaging way. This unit will assist teachers in teaching fables in the classroom. Students will learn that a fable is a story passed down from generation to generation and is told to teach a lesson. Students will learn to understand the central message, lesson, or moral of the story, describe how characters respond to major events, understand words and phrases that build vocabulary, and understand how story structure plays a role in better understanding the text through the teaching of close reading strategies.
