This Division Lapbook is a perfect way to help your students understand division concepts.
Product Description

Do you need a way to have your students understand basic division concepts?
This Common Core Aligned Lapbook should help.

4th Grade Common Core Standards Addressed:

4.OA.1- Interpret a multiplication equation as a comparison
4.OA.2- Multiply to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparisons. Represent verbal statements of multiplicative comparisons as multiplication equations.

3rd Grade Common Core Standards Addressed:
3.OA.1, 3 OA.2, 3 OA.3, 3 OA.4, 3 OA.5, 3 OA.6

Students create foldables to insert into a Lapbook. However, the foldables can also be inserted into a notebook.

Concepts included in lapbook:

Definition foldable includes:
dividend, divisor, quotient, fact family
Tips for Understanding Division booklet includes descriptions and examples of the following terms and concepts:
equal groups, inverse operations, repeated addition (and how it applies to multiplication), repeated subtraction (and how it applies to division), division as a concept of "sharing" and 3 rules for division.
Special Quotients Flipbook includes:
Rules about zero and 1
Show What You Know booklet includes:
6 word problems- students then draw a solution, write a solution equation and then explain their thinking

In the center there is a "Division Graffiti Wall". On the wall are 4 strategies to help students understand division:
repeated subtraction, array, groups of and fact families.
Students then glue the term name over the strategy to "lift the flap" and review.

Lots of great review and room for students to create their own examples.

For those of you who have copy limitations, I created an extra 2 pages for you to just print out the "tips for understanding division" concepts and the students can create their own foldables with construction paper or sentence strips.

Also, the "Show What You Know" can also be run on one sheet instead of 4 separate sheets to save on copies.

Hope you can use it!

About the Seller

After 20 years teaching grades 1, 2, 4, and 5, I am beginning a new adventure as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher.  I am excited to branch out and explore new ways of teaching.  Over the years, I have created resources that fit the needs of my classroom.  You will mostly find math materials because for the last three years, I was only teaching math.  However, now that I am entering the world of English Language Learners, you will begin to find materials that will help ELL students in addition to helping all students with reading, writing, listening and speaking.  I believe strongly in creating materials that provide opportunities for students to be engaged in hands on learning as well as providing them opportunities to express what they know in creative ways.  I am so excited to share them with you!
