Decimal Operations Printables and Task Card Bundle
Decimal Operations Solve & Draw Bundle contains Decimal Word Problems Solve & Draw Task Cards and Decimal Operations No-Prep Printables. Solve & Draw activities are a no-prep way to make decimal review work or practice more engaging. These are also designed to provide practice of reading math directions and breaking down multi-step word problems. These are intended to be a challenge or review activity.
How Solve & Draw Activities Work:
Students solve the problems and add to the drawings based on prompts.
Task Cards: Students read the word problem, determine the steps they need to take, and solve the decimal calculations. Then, there are two related math problems, often requiring critical thinking and making connections, that will prompt them to add specific objects to the drawing. To keep them guessing, each problem may have one correct drawing prompt, two, or none. Drawing is no-prep because it can be done with a pencil. You may choose to allow colored pencils, crayons, or markers but they are not required. This works well as a homework option for families who may not have those supplies to offer.
Three drawings are included, each with 8 associated task cards (ninja from the correct drawing is on each numbered task card). Each task card contains three related math problems.
Task cards are included in both color and black-and-white. An answer sheet with workspace is provided and may be copied on to the back of the drawing or separately. You may also choose to print copies of the task cards in black-and-white, especially for students needing support, and allowing students to complete the work on the task cards.
Drawing prompts require a student to use multiple skills:
• Decimal calculations (all operations) • Reading word problems carefully and determining the steps and calculations needed to solve • Making math connections • Independently using math vocabulary • Reading directions accurately
Printables: Two Sets of Printables included! Decimal Operations and Decimal Place Value!
All you have to do is print the pages! Students solve the decimal calculations or decimal place value problems and add to the drawing based on their answers. To keep them guessing, each problem may have one correct drawing prompt, two, or none. Each page has an average of 7 responses that require drawing. Drawing is no-prep because it can be done with the student’s normal writing utensil (pen or pencil). You may choose to allow colored pencils, crayons, or markers but they are not required. This works well as a homework option for families who may not have those supplies to offer.

An optional challenge page is included that can be copied on the back of the worksheet – this gives students an extension opportunity by asking them to create a math equation that fits one of the incorrect drawing prompts or to create a math equation and their own drawing prompts.
Solve & Draw resources are inspired by a group of artistic students who love to create and detest practicing math skills in the same boring ways. I hope this resource can make math practice and review fun in your classroom or home, too!

Welcome to my store! I have been teaching for 12 years, and my goal is to help every student succeed. My heart, and expertise, is with striving learners. My students with learning disabilities and autism have inspired my resources. One particularly artistic group of reluctant mathematicians inspired my Solve & Draw line of math resources.
