This beginning sounds activity can be used as a center, small group or early finisher task, students will practice their beginning word sounds with this activity. There are 3 choices to pick from for the beginning sound. The student will place the clip/clothes pin on the answer they think is best. The teacher may then either have the child self-check or the teacher may check for understanding with the child. For differentiation and challenge: • Students may select from clothes pins that have the uppercase letter on the pin. They will then match the upper and lowercase letters in addition to the sounds. • Students may use the long vowel cards to practice this advanced skill.
